![]() Editor Scott Haring said " Mythos was a very deserving game, with great art and gameplay that involved more than just monsters fighting each other." Game play In 1999, Pyramid magazine named Mythos as one of The Millennium's Best Card Games. The production was stopped after the release of New Aeon in 1997, only a year after the game's initial release. Later expansions however, most notably the non-collectible Standard Game Set, did much more poorly and forced Chaosium to discontinue Mythos. It received critical acclaim, winning the 1996 Best Card Game Origins Award, and initially sold well. In 1996, Chaosium decided to join the ongoing collectible card game boom and published Mythos, designed by Charlie Krank. Lovecraft, as well as on Chaosium's own Call of Cthulhu role-playing game. It is based on the Cthulhu Mythos stories of the horror author H. Evil Dead animated show.Mythos is an out-of-print collectible card game published by Chaosium. Campbell himself has downplayed the possibility of portraying Ash in a live-action format in the future, save for a new movie helmed by Sam Raimi, while instead being interested in an Ash vs. The other reason a prequel to the Evil Dead Rise has become a hopeful thought for audiences is the potential return of Bruce Campbell's Ash Williams, especially after his sneaky cameo teasing his Deadite-slaying hero having been displaced at another point in time after the medieval-centric Army of Darkness. The former concept has been met with much enthusiasm for fans of the franchise, feeling it could reinvent the series while also returning to some of its goofy roots. In the months since the movie's release, Cronin has teased a variety of ideas for a potential Evil Dead Rise sequel, including a prequel focused on the Book of the Dead centered on a John Wick-like priest facing hordes of Deadites, as well as direct stories following Kassie and Beth after surviving the events of the movie. So, there's definitely thoughts and ideas that that are circling, and things that we've discussed, and in terms of when and how that happens, that's up to the film gods. So, yeah, I'm a huge fan of it, they're really fun, terrifying and challenging movies to make, and as a filmmaker, you want to be challenged. That's not just a fun moment in Army of Darkness, it's actually part of the lore, it's now part of the mythos, and starts to broaden the canon as such. I think I broke the universe open a little wider than maybe it's been before, and I think there's a lot of potential there, especially now clarifying that existence of three books. I think one of the things I've maybe done with Evil Dead Rise, though, as well is open it up further, potentially, to other voices to come in. It's something that's always been under discussion, because there's fun to that, as we were talking and developing the movie, Rob Tapert, who would have been on set when I was shooting, we'd often talk about some different ideas in terms of what can actually take place. I think it's important that you don't just absolutely try and rinse something out immediately. I think we are right now enjoying the success of this movie. Yeah, I think the potential is absolutely there for that to take place.
